Consider the work of Thomson, Rutherford, and Bohr. In your opinion, which was the most important and why? Be sure to state what your selected person discovered and how it contributed to the model of the atom.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Do you know what they each contributed to the model of the atom?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both bohr and rutherford.. cant choose... its not a boxing match.. its science.. u cant rank them in science..

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

In term's of model of the atom; Bohr's model survived greatest experimental scrutiny. But in terms of development of the concept; "...u cant rank them in science..."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but rutherford was the first to start... he developed the first insight... its like u cant compare work of newton and einstein even if einstein"s relativity is most accurate till now!

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

It says "in your opinion." I think your teacher just wants you to think about the contributions each scientists gave and pick the one that you think is most influential on our current understanding of the atom.
