Question 18

what i got so far is this: Curtis should consider the following: • He has no physical activity. He could go for morning walks for 10 minutes each as it helps his metabolism get started and works better throughout the day. He should exercise at least three times a day for 30 minutes or go to a gym two times a week. Regular and stress managing activity reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems and help to burn extra calories. He could exercise more intensely by jogging. • It is good that he doesn't smoke anymore, but he should have regular checkups with the doctor to prevent urge to smoke again or have a chance of another heart attack. There might be a chance of a heart attack even after quitting smoking. • His previous heart attack, and the fact that he is eating a lot of fatty and sugary foods, are both risk factors of developing Type 2 diseases and diabetes. His doctor should investigate whether he has a possible pre-stroke condition. • He eats too much saturated fats and sugary foods, with little to no veggies and no fruits. He should eat a well balanced diet (Eg. Changing his morning breakfast to oatmeal, cereal with milk, eggs & ham and toast as bacon is high in fat and calories, this causes cardiovascular disease. For lunch he should change to sandwiches with non-carbonated juice as hamburger and fries are fatty food, and for dinner: rice with a little meat, veggies and fruits rather than potato chips and diet soft drink which are fatty food and sugary) to ensure that he is getting complex carbohydrates, essential amino acids, and polyunsaturated fats(oils). He should also have an intake of 8 glasses of water a day. A balanced diet can vastly improve his health and help him to lose weight. He should also sleep early after reading a book as this allows the internal organs of the body rest (recommended 8 hours of sleep). • He could take multivitamins/minerals daily as it helps him gain the essentials he would miss out on from food he might of missed. They would help with his immune system to prevent from getting sick and slowing down deteriorate of internals. Other possible comments may relate to his resting metabolic rate (RMR), his parent's health history, His attitude, and so on. This right or no?
