A rider lies on a sled at the top of a snow-covered hill. After one push to start the sled, the rider rides to the bottom of the hill, where the sled begins to slow and eventually stop. What causes the sled to slow and eventually stop?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. The force of friction between the snow and the runners of the sled opposes the motion of inertia of the sled. B. As the sled travels downhill, the force of gravity slows the sled down and eventually stops it. C. The mass of the rider opposes the forward force of the sled, causing it to slow down and eventually stop. D. Because the force of the rider is greater and in the opposite direction of the force of the sled, the sled slows to a stop.
