Causation and correlation?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Sarah described the following situation: When fertilizer was added to one plant and nothing was added to another plant, there was a noticeable difference in the color of the leaves of the plants. Which of the following best describes the situation? This is an example of correlation but not causation. This is an example of causation but not correlation. This is an example of both correlation and causation. This is an example of neither correlation nor causation.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I think this is B @Ryan88 @tester97 @texaschic101

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@adrynicoleb

OpenStudy (adrynicoleb):

I have no idea. O.O I also don't know why people tag me in math...

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

lol sorry :O

OpenStudy (adrynicoleb):

Lol its ok, but why did you give me a medal?? Give it to the person who helps you with the answer!! ;D

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

u were the only person that answered so some times just answering could help some one...plus then it woulda went to waste :( wasten medals ain't cool.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

well....I am pretty sure causation is in there....can't decide if correlation is in there as well. Not too good at these.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I think correlation is in there too. I am guessing both are in there. I think you need to wait on Opcode's answer.

OpenStudy (opcode):

What exactly are you confused with, try asking more specific questions :-P. I would have to go with: \(C:\) This is an example of both correlation and causation. When fertilizer was added to one plant and nothing was added to another plant, there was a noticeable difference in the colour of the leaves of the plants. \(#1\) There is a correlation between the plant and fertilizer. \(#2\) There is causation between the fertilizer and colour of the leaves. (Head note, this took me forever to type since I am on my school's computer, sorry.)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

no problem thanks too!

OpenStudy (opcode):

Glad I was of help, have a nice day :-).
