Which of the following equations best represents the line segment AB? y = -3x + 2 y = -2x + 1 y = -3x - 2 y = -2x - 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its y = -3x - 2

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Remember that in the form y = mx + b 'b' is the y-intercept (where a line crosses the y-axis) so for your answer....that would mean this line crosses the y-axis at -2...is this true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well it crosses at 2 and its an negative slope

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Mmhmm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soo it wouldnt be negative it would be positive because it crosses at 2 but not -2

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Right! it crosses at 2 and has a negative slope of -3 Looks a lot like A right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya becasue i didnt know if it would be negative or posittive since the slope is negative but i go it
