This is supposedly a quote that I keep over-thinking and need help solving- The mixed price of 9 citrons and 7 fragrant wood apples is 107; again, the mixed price of 7 citrons and 9 fragrant wood apples is 101. O you arithmetician, tell me quickly the price of a citron and the price of a wood apple, having distinctly separated those prices well. a. What do you think is meant by "the mixed price" in the problem quoted above? b. What is the price of a citron and the price of a wood apple?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Mixed price...well the 2 prices wont be the same, so this is just each fruit priced all mixed together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Set up a system of equations to solve b) 9c + 7a = 107 7c + 9a = 101 Isolate a variable in 1 of the 2 equations and substitute it into the other equation
