Please help! i have two ques and I am not good in Eng. 1) what is the main verb in this sentence? "I bet you could do it if your life depended on it" 2) what is the main verb in the following sent? "The coffee mug that I drink out of every morning has gone missing"
#1 Is depended because it is what the life is doing. (so to speak) #2 Is "gone" because the mug is the main subject and it has 'gone' missing. So it is what it is doing/has done
thank u
Anytime!
can I ask u 2 more ques.
Sure
Which sentence contains a predicate noun? 1) i feel great today 2) those dogs are Labrador Retrievers 3) Larry bought three new books last night 4) my credit card balance is way too high Normally, the title of a _______ is written in italics song, newspaper title, poem or movie I am practicing for my GED and really appreciate the help
A predicate noun is a single noun or a noun phrase that renames the subject of a sentence and follows a form of the verb “to be” or another linking verb. On that note- The only possible answer could be number 2 because it renames dogs as the actual breed. To answer your second question- APA's Publication Manual (2010) indicates that, in the body of your paper, you should use italics for the titles of: books periodicals (journals, magazines, newspapers) films videos TV shows So the answer could be any, but i'd choose book.
Book is not a choice. I chose Song on the practice and it said that i was wrong
What were the answers to choose from? Should of told me D:
songs, newspaper article, poems or movies
It would be a movie, also known as a film. songs, newspaper articles are in quotes.
oooooooooooo, thank u so much. i really appreciate your help
