OpenStudy (hoopcoach99):

Is a shape with the vertices (2, 4), (1, 0), (-3, 1), and (-2, 5) best classified as a parallelogram, rectangle, or neither? A. Parallelogram B. Rectangle C. Neither

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hi, The first thing you want to do is use the distance formula to find each segment's length. Can you do that for me real fast?

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Try plotting all four points on a graph ; which helps you get the answer.

OpenStudy (hoopcoach99):

ok, let me try

OpenStudy (hoopcoach99):

a parallellogram

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

I believe that's the correct answer too.

OpenStudy (hoopcoach99):

Ok I didnt realise all i had to do is plot them

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Well, there is more to it than that. Even if it 'looks' like a rectangle, it can be something else. Try using the Distance Formula to find the length of each segment.

OpenStudy (hoopcoach99):

ok

OpenStudy (hoopcoach99):

Thank you
