OpenStudy (rane):

\[1.5x + 0.3y - 1 = 0 \] \[-0.3y = 1.5x - 1 \] \[ y=\frac{ 1 }{ 0.3 }\]

OpenStudy (rane):

I cant figure out how y = -1?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

1.5x + 0.3y - 1 = 0 --- multiply by 10 15x + 3y - 10 = 0 3y = -15x + 10 y = -5x + 10/3 I am getting this..??

OpenStudy (rane):

y did u multiply it by 10?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

to make the decimals go away....I find it easier to work with when there is no decimals

OpenStudy (rane):

so we wouldn't get marks deducted in tests or get the answer wrong if its times by "10" ??
