What was the impact of Greco-Roman culture on medieval culture?

Most cultures in Europe and North America can be visibly traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans. Even the Christian religion is heavily influenced by Greco-Roman art and mythology. As with most arts, the architecture of the ancient world has had significant influence on the development of western architectures, particularly for government and religious buildings. Medieval churches especially indicate their Greco-Roman roots.
