This is an exercise in formulating the equation from real life scenario. if b = no of birds and s = no of squirrels then you need to write 2 equations "Kyra saw 4 times as many birds as squirrels in her backyard" 1) write this as an equation using s and b " She saw a total of 15 birds and squirrels" 2) Write this as equation in s and b You now have 2 simultaneous equations using s and b - so solve using whatever method you have for simultaneous equations.
