Solve the system of equations. 3x + 3y = –6 –x + y = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. x = 10; y = –3 B. x = –1; y = –1 C. x = 14; y = 5 D. x = 22; y = 7

OpenStudy (shamil98):

What do you think it is? I can tell what the solution is just by looking at the second equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

>.> Your that good eh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its B

OpenStudy (shamil98):

yep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol I took the hint from what you said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiplied the bottom by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (shamil98):

-x + y = 0 you can tell that the number have to be the same. (-1,-1) = -(-1) - 1 = 0 same thing goes for (1,1), (2,2) and so on.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Again you shouldn't use my method, unless you actually know how to solve through the methods of elimination and substitution which you used, so good job.
