Why are domestic fuel sources preferable to international fuel sources

1. domestic fuel sources do not have a negative impact on our balance of trade. 2. domestic fuel sources create more jobs here. 3. domestic fuel sources do not incur the same transportation costs. 4. domestic fuel sources to not give money to governments and individuals that don't like us, and often are working against us. ~ask
Answer 2 because not only would we be able to benefit from the job increase due to the fact that it is on our land but also because the US would then also be able to make money off of other countries who would buy the fuel from us should we sell it at a fairer price by the barrel than Middle Eastern Countries do. :)
