Hint. Whenever the book asks you to compare something, all they want you to do is to define them. So pull out your textbook and write the definition of a vector and then write the definition of a scalar. You might throw in a couple examples too. Usually they want that also, when they are talking about scalars and vectors. BTW, just giving examples isn't enough.
