A little confused in this two problems. Would really appreciate the help. Thank you. Problem 1: x^(2/5)x^(-3/5) Problem 2: a^(n/2)a^(-n/4)

Do you need problem 1 to be in the form of a^(n/2)a^(-n/4)
Not necessarily. I'm just trying to simplify problem one. Problem two is similar but its a completely different problem.
according to indices law both powers will add up each other
so the final answer is x^(-1/5)
I wasn't sure at the beginning whether I added or multiplied. So thank you!
