This is an Excel problem for my business calc

I am subtracting my cost from my revenue (profit function is p=r-c) to get profit. This is fine, but it is a different answer from when i just subtract the cells. i.e. =B2-B1 does not give me the same answer as the equation does. (Not sure if this makes sense)

Profit equation is (508.47*q^-.502)*q)-((39*q)+238), but this does not give me the same answer as (imagine that these are separate cells) [Cell B2] 508.47*q^-.502
minus [Cell B1] (39*q)+238
