Simplify y+y
if you have 1 apple and I give you another apple, how many apples do you have?
2y because there are 2 of them
you would have 2 apples so apple + apple = 2apple so y+y = 2y
you may think of it as 1*y+1*y = (1+1)y = 2y
not to interrupt, but why on earth would a math teacher call addition "simplify" there is no such mathematical operation as "simplify"
teacher logic OP
Hello y+y equals to y^2.It is similar to the problem 1+1.Its just that this problem contains ones. for example: u have to put one in front of the letter 1y +1y =2 y or y 2
wouldnt it be Y to the second because Y has to be by itself .
It can have two answers y^2 or y +y so you wouldn't be wrong @ selfless but u have to imagine like it has a 1 in front of the y and do 1Y +1y =2y
O yea now i remember learning that i like algebra Math . I wish i was good at freakin geometry like algebra .
if anybody had FLVS geometry and can help me with the second semester that would be great.
Missy said y + y = y^2 -.-, that's completely wrong, y x y = y^2, y+y = 2y >_>, lol simplify o_O
dude Y2 and 2Y are pretty much the same it doesnt matter what side they are on.
missy got it write
k believe what ever you want
o i will
