This survey is for my Algebra class but condering the factors I find it appropriate to be under physics. - Given the following evidence, do you think that the moon landing could have been faked?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the evidence??lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is the evidence.

OpenStudy (samgrace):

And a mirror

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WOW

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me explain them first. The flag is waving in the picture when in space. There are no stars in the picture of earth. And then there is the shadow problem that is well presented in the picture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AnthonyStark @samgrace

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya,,,these evidences show that landing was faked......But U.S landed on moon not once but NINE times...could they have faked it ALL NINE TIMES??????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also the rock samples that they brought from moon have been PROVED NON_TERRESTRIAL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hahaa. Not saying that I believe it. I just need other peoples opinions for this assignment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohk!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bookworm00981

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And....about the shadows stuff- the moon doesnt have any atmosphere, so refraction and reflection will be slightly different than on earth(they claim)....and the ship in which they went there(LUNAR MODULE) had mirror like reflecting stuff all over it,,,,thats why u see the controversial shadows!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sweet, Thanks!! And if the rocks were on a surface non-parallel to the ship then the shadows would be off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u elaborate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"And if the rocks were on a surface non-parallel to the ship then the shadows would be off" i didnt understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh i got wat u meant ! sorry! ya u are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hahaa, okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@helpout3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KinzaN

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do they have reason to fake a landing? Competitive spirit would be a ridiculous reason for a country to fake a lunar landing. I wouldn't know how to analyze the photos, though, lolol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I dont think that is what really matters. The question is asking for me to analyze the evidence given. But thanks!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then talk about light's ability to bend around obstacles.

OpenStudy (rajat97):

i've got a silly thing there are so many footsteps on the ground in the second image there may not be more than 4-5 people and the footsteps are too many lol:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is true. Woah!! i just noticed something else wrong with the shadow in the 2nd picture. Look close and see if you can find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rajat97

OpenStudy (rajat97):

yeah!

OpenStudy (rajat97):

and i even think that there's no air on the moon so the flag cannot move i don't know much about it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. But the flag has no shadow!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

about the fluttering of flag- u know on earth things flutter because of winds....But wind is not a NECESSITY for things to flutter...u can move them(flutter) using hands(by waving)....But that thing comes to rest eventually because of DAMPING due to AIR (ATMOSPHERE) on earth......But theres no atmosphere on moon, so no damping.....so when the astronauts where fixing the flag up there , obvoiusly they had to move it (flutter it)....BUT theres no damping to stop that fluttering, so it flutters :)

OpenStudy (rajat97):

yeah i think you are right @AnthonyStark
