In order to reduce the sensitivity of the galvanometer, you would need to place a resistor in parallel with it. The vale of the resistance would depend on the resistance of the galvanometer. In order to reduce the sensitivity of the galvanometer by a factor of ten, the resistor would need to allow 9/10 of the current to flow through it and only 1/10 through the galvanometer. So it would need a resistance of 1/9 of the galvanometer.
can you give any kind of example related to my question then i'll be very thankful to you?
Hi, I found a nice example here: http://www.citycollegiate.com/galvanometer_XIIa.htm
thanks
