A car weighs 1800 kg. The distance between its front and back axles is 1.8m. Its centre of gravity is 1.05m behind the front axle. Determine the force exerted by the level ground on each front wheel and each back wheel.?
multiply the numbers,
which no's .. I mean can u plzz show the complete processs
You know that the weight acts through the centre of gravity, and that this is 1.p5m behind the front wheel So - you can work out the moment of this force about the front wheel. Now - since the car is in equilibrium you know that the reaction moment of the rear wheel must equal the the moment you just worked out You know the moment length (distance from front wheel to back) so you can work out the force acting on the back axle. The sum of the force on the front and back axles must equalt the weight of the car - so you can now work out the force on the front axle. Note - the question asks 'for each wheel' - there are 2 wheels per axle|dw:1392317754416:dw|
