A scientist has been working for 15 years to develop a new type of plastic material, but she has not yet been successful. Which of the following best explains why her work is still a success?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

New ideas often develop from unsuccessful experimentation. The original problem was not solved and can now be abandoned. Most scientists require several decades of experimenting before achieving their goals. The scientist has demonstrated that there are no new plastics for scientists to develop.

mabye c

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Might want to ask in Chemistry or Biology, where someone might have covered this in their class. Computer Science is more about the logical thinking and breaking things down into smaller problems than it is about doing long term studies. So the topic is skipped.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

While the research has not produced a new plastic, it certainly will have shown that the material/techniques used are not effective. This save later researches from trying those material/techniques, and they can try others.

OpenStudy (mandre):

I think the question is flawed. a and c are both good answers. It's not like a math problem where you have one definite answer.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

successful experimentation does not always produce successful research,

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@Mandre C is flawed. The range is way to variable to say that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a cause i got c wrong
