We know that a triangle must add up to 180 degrees. One angle is given (30 degrees) we also know that it's a right triangle, so one angle must be 90 degrees. 30 + 90 = 120. Now, take 120 and subtract 180. 180 - 120 = w

60

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Yup! :)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

So, now that we have all three of our angles, and a point, do you know the formula to find the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Asquared plus bsquared equals c square d

OpenStudy (compassionate):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont understand how that would give me w

OpenStudy (compassionate):

SOHCAHTOA tells use we need to use Sine. The two sides we are using are Opposite (7__/3) and Hypotenuse (w) Write down the fraction for sin 30° = (7__/3)/w w x (sin 30) = 7__/3 w = 7__/3(/) (sin 30) w = 7/2 w = 3.5

Oh ok do you haveatime for one more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have time*

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Sorry - but I have to go. try asking @Ashleyisakitty , she's taking trigonometry/Geometry.

Ok
