How can technology be utilized to complete constructions? (IN GEOMETRY)
@sakiz008 YOU KNOW IT??
I can give you an example of how technology and geometry have helped construction if that's what you want?
What is the area of a rectangle with a length 20 yd and a width of 16 yd? A. 320 yd2 B. 325 yd2 C. 333 yd2 D. 340 yd2
@deetee Gothic architecture was only made possible by understanding key physics principles. The great stain glass windows and tall frames of Gothic buildings would not have been possible with the old way of building because the weight of the walls would have crushed the glass windows and made tall buildings unstable. BUT the use of flying pointed arches and flying buttresses distributed the weight of the walls off the windows and caused them to be possible to use. The geometry involved in this process "diverted" the force of gravity away from the fragile windows as seen in the following links: picture: http://icyseas.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/cathc3a9drale_de_reims_intc3a9rieur.jpg diagrams: http://i.stack.imgur.com/MnHLm.gif http://www.schillerinstitute.org/graphics/diagrams/long_life_catenary/Fig-06a-b.jpg physics behind it: http://www.pbslearningmedia.org/asset/nv37_int_arches/ Kind of long example! Sorry! Hoped I helped thoug :)
