HELP! WILL GIVE MEDAL AND BECOME A FAN!!!! y varies inversely with x and y = 8 when x = 2. Which is the inverse variation equation for the relationship? a.y = 16x b. y = 16/x c.y = 2x d. y = x + 2

OpenStudy (joemarket):

B

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Alright inversely means \[y = \frac{k}{x}\] You need first solve for 'k' by multiplying both sides by x (which here is 2.) so what is 2 times 8? 16...that is your 'k' So your final answer would be y = 16/x

thanks!
