How do you change the following equation into slope-intercept form?? 2x+3y=1,200

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Slope intercept form is y = mx + b So you would subtract 2x from both sides of that equation... 3y = -2x + 1200 And now divide everything by 3 to isolate 'y' y= (-2/3)x + 400

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.. i just didn't know if you divided or multiplied the three

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Yeah, since it is being multiplied to the 'y' you need to divide it to cancel that out
