A number cube with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 is rolled 1000 times. About how many times would it be expected that a number greater than 1 is rolled? A. 167 B. 333 C. 667 D. 833 Please Explain!

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

What is the probability P that you'll roll a number greater than 1 with one roll? The expectation of how many times that will happen in 1000 rolls will be 1000*P, as each roll is an independent event. What we roll this time has no effect on what we roll the next time.
