Write the name or formula for the following molecular compounds. CS2 CCL4 S2O6 triboron monoxide tretaphosphorus pentoxide arsenic trihydride. someone please help me with this and possibly explain it?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

mono = 1 di (or bis) = 2 tri = 3 tetra = 4 penta = 5 when you have two non metals, you simply name the atom and the second atom wite either the number of atoms of that atoms. For instance, the first one is 1 carbon, 2 sulphur, so it is \(\sf \color{red}{carbon~disulfide}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for triboron monoxide would it be B3O?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Yes. Tri means 3 borons, and mono = 1 oxygen.
