You're saying you have not considered that.  Well, consider it now.  Multiply both sides by 3/2.  You can do it in two steps if you like.  Multiply by 3 and then divide by 2.

There are many ways to obtains answers and fail to obtain understanding.  If only you had multiplied by 3/2.  Oh, well...
