First we need to get values for the right side of the equation. 5(c+7) is the same as what?

Correct so our equation now looks like this. -25 + 3c <= 5c +35.....Now we have to get the unknown variables to one side of the equation and the known values to the other side of the equation. How would you do that and what will we end up with as our equation?

LOL..Ok we need to get the "c",s to one side of the equation. What happens if I subtract 3c from both sides of the equation? What would the equation look like then?

why subtract 3c from both sides, don't you need to take the constants away first?

No..we subtract 3c from both sides so that we end up with only one variable on one side of the equation. -25 <= 2c +35 is what we end up with...now we have to -35 from both sides and what do we end up with?

60<=2c?

Actually -60 <= 2c....Now divide both sides by 2 to determine the value for c.

then I divide 2 in each side and get c<=30

OpenStudy (mysangels):

oh, -30

-30...but yes that is correct. Do you understand what I mean by having to get the unknown variables (THE LETTER's) on one side of the equation and the known (THE NUMBERS) on the other side of the equation to be able to solve for the variable?
