? What was the immediate reason that caused US Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan to resign in June 1915? Jennings no longer believed in President Wilson's commitment to stay uninvolved in Europe's conflict. Jennings felt the US government needed to take a stronger stand against Germany's attacks on neutral ships. Jenning's was unhappy with President Wilson's decision to sanction loans worth billions of dollars for the Allies.
