Find the surface area and volume of the prism.
Could you post the answers? It's just easier for me
There is no answer choice it's a find your own answer problem
Oooh, well do you want me to just post the equation so you can do it all there?
Sure .
Okay so is this a rectangular or triangler prism?
...Or don't you know?
Heres rectangular; 2 area of base + perimeter of base H.
That's too find the volume
Let's find the surface area first. The surface area is the sum of the areas of all of the surfaces. We have 5 surfaces here: the two end triangles, the base, the large slanting side on the right, and the small slanting side on the left. Agreed? Can you tell me the dimensions of: 1) base 2) large slanting side 3) small slanting side
1) 50? 2) 25 3) 14
Those surfaces are rectangles, and rectangles have 2 dimensions, don't they?
Part of the key to success in solving problems like this is being able to identify the dimensions correctly.
Can you just show me how to work out the problem and ill figure out the answer?
The base is a rectangle. One of its dimensions is 50. What is the other one? The large slanting side is a rectangle. One of its dimensions is 25. What is the other one? The small slanting side is a rectangle. One of its dimensions is 14. What is the other one?
I am showing you exactly how to work it out. If you can't identify the dimensions, there's no possibility of working it out correctly.
