Well it's the big bang which did.Scientist have recently proved this.From a religious point of view the Holy Quran which dates back,2400 years old,It has a verse which describes this: “Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, then We separated them, and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?” (Quran 21:30)
