what's the problem?
What is 5pi/4 radians in degrees?
Well I would say 225 this is how I got it.. pi rad = 180 degrees 5pi/4 rad = 180 x 5/4 = 225 degrees.
Thank you! Do you have time to help me with some more questions?
depends
What is the arc length of the arc subtended in a circle with radius 6 and an angle of 7pi/8?
21pi/4 Because, from the formula s = rθ where s represents the arc length, θ represents the central angle in radians and r is the length of the radius. s = 6 x (7pi)/8 = 42π / 8 = 21π / 4
Makes sense! You explain it a lot better! What is the reference angle for 7pi/6?
you there?
7π/3 = 60 degrees (or π/3 in radians) tht should do >_<
that should do? im sorry i thought i could keep asking you questions.
no i didnt mean it tht way
I meant tht should do it
\[if \sin \theta = 12/13 and \cos \theta < 0, what is the \tan of \theta?\]
sorry i cant see the equation
if sin theta is equal to 12/13, and cos theta is < 0, what is the tan of theta?
It's a 5-12-13 right triangle in the 4th quadrant. Draw it; label it and read the function values from the triangle. Short leg 5 is on the horixontal axis. Sine = LEG/HYP So 13² – 12² = 169 – 144 = 25 = 5² so the third leg is 5. The negatoive sign tells you it is in the 4th quadrant (or maybe the 3rd). But if in the 3rd, then tangent would be positive and you are told it is negative. tan θ = –12/5 and cos θ = 5/13 and cot θ –5/12 all simply read off the triangle diagram.
If the point (5/13, 12/13) corresponds to an angle theta in the unit circle, what is cot theta?
?
cot theta is simply 1/tan theta not to be confused by the tan^-1 function on your calculator. In the unit circle angles are measured from the positive x axis anti clockwise so the point (0,1) represents o degrees. if you plot your point and make a right angle triangle where the hyp goes from your point to (0,0) then tan theta = 12/13 divided by 5/13 = 12/5 Then cot theta = 5/12
what is the correct definition for cot theta?
cos/sin i think how many more questions do you need help with?
