No. of Attendees 20 40 60 Total Rental Cost $410 $550 $690 What is the base price for the ballroom rental? A. $140 B. $7 C. $54 D. $270

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well as you can see...for every 20 people...the price goes up by 140...We can use this to our advantage because we now know how much it cost per person to eat... 140 / 20 = 7....so it cost 7 dollars per person to eat... If this is true...we look how it cost 410 for 20 people to eat...if the cost of each person to eat is 7...that is 20 x 7 = 140 Well how did we get up to 410? The base price...now we find that by subtracting 140 from 410 410 - 140 = ?
