Historians refer to the nineteenth century as the Industrial Age. Our modern society is sometimes called the Information Age. Technology has undeniably shaped both eras. Post a response to two of the following topics: a) Which technologies have been pivotal in the development of the Information Age? To what extent did the Industrial Revolution create the foundation for modern technologies? b) How have the technological changes of the Information Age transformed modern society? c) How are living conditions in the twenty-first century different than conditions in the nineteenth
I can't really give you the entire answer but i can give you the information that you need. We invented electricity, and then slowly moved on to more electrical powered machines, and that created what we have today, almost everything we have today is used by stored electricity, and power. When we discovered the internet in 1958, that was the first traces of it. We didn't make use of it till a long while after, but it provides endless amounts of information and resources. Hence, the information age.
When we started making the internet more efficient and reliable, more and more people started using it for information about certain subjects, and even communicating with old friends. We also developed phones, with touch screens and non-landline connections, which greatly impacted everything that we live for today. Now you see everyone with a smart phone in their hand WITH internet on the go, and texting and talking. Technology has created quite an impact.
In the nineteenth century, almost EVERYONE lived in the city, if you were a farmer, then you were lucky enough to have someone buy your crops and use them. The city was the main place for resources and goods, and it provided shelter and jobs for the people. Even the children had jobs and worked int the coal mines, ( this was before we realized how toxic and horrible the conditions were, they were small enough to go through the mines and not have to bend over.) Now, we're all spread out with equal opportunities everywhere. We have reliable transportation that can get us anywhere we need to go and jobs that we can get at stores and such. We also have better schooling. Not many people have to drop out because they have to support their families with money and help. Almost every kid goes to school.
