Has anyone read Washington's Farewell Speech??! Medal to anyone who can help me!!!
so...what do you need
"In looking forward to the moment, which is intended to terminate the career of my public life, my feelings do not permit me to suspend the deep acknowledgment of that debt of gratitude, which I owe to my beloved country for the many honors it has conferred upon me; still more for the steadfast confidence with which it has supported me; and for the opportunities I have thence enjoyed of manifesting my inviolable attachment, by services faithful and persevering, though in usefulness unequal to my zeal." I need to write ^^this in modern day English..
that is absolutely the easiest thing to do lol
so why are you having problems with this? Just take what he is saying and put it more simply. I am not going to write it all out for you...its against OS
I don't even understand what it means. I have a bunch of questions about it but I just absolutely don't understand any of it.
Like, they told me that I had to read it... I don't understand any of the speech...
its not a hard speech;) Tell me what he is saying
I don't know what he's saying!!! I don't understand it.
he is basically saying he is looking forward to the day when he can finally retire from his service to his country but he will never forget or over look what has been offered and the opportunities that have been offered to him
Okay now is that just that paragraph that I posted or is that the who speech summarized??
