@jim_thompson5910

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

I got 3.4 for mean 2.2 for variance and 1.5 for prob distribution

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

variance = sum squared deviations/ n-1

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

you mean 1.5 for standard deviation?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Oh yeah the book calls it "Standard deviation of the probability distribution" sorry haha

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

your answers look about right

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

And that is yes but for what reason?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

or is it B because of the negative 0.10?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discrete_probability_distribution#Discrete_probability_distribution you are right, the distribution cant have neg probabilities

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Thank you!
