In a closed system with a vacuum germinating seeds are put in.The temperature of the pea seeds rises in the day and drops at night.How could you be sure that this is not simply related to daily fluctuations of temperature and that energy has in fact been released by the peas?

Make the enclosure heat proof maybe?

I think its because its in a closed system and there is presence of more oxygen due to photosynthesis and therefore heat would not trap heat like carbon dioxide.

Wait, I thought you are trying to make sure that the change in temperature is because of heat release from the peas and not the surrounding temperature.

Remember that plant produces two products.One is CO2 and the other oxygen.

Well yea... but what does that have to do with energy release?

I finally got the answer myself the peas will die for not being able to respire as the oxygen will run out.|dw:1392730252431:dw|
