How did the Renaissance contribute to the Scientific Revolution?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Well, the Renaissance's emphasis on humanism helped spark scientific thinking. The Church and God were no longer seen as the reason why everything happened the way it did. BTW: Humanism is basically saying that humans themselves are the cause for things and that humans themselves matter. Before the Renaissance and Scientific Reolution, every one thought that God made things happen and it wasn't true. Oneself makes their risks and recieves consequences.
