When shopping for a baby doll for her daughter, Ms. Martin found that the price of two baby dolls was less than $70. Which of the following inequalities represents this information? A.2 × b < $70 B. 2 + b < $70 C. 2 × b < $70 --- D. 2 + b < $70 ---

OpenStudy (cakt07):

@jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

0.o are you sure you typed it right? XD some of the options look the same :P

OpenStudy (cakt07):

XD

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Nope, I typed it right. Look closely.

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

"two baby dolls" b = baby doll two baby dolls = 2b or 2 x b "less than 70" --> " < 70 " combine the two parts :P

OpenStudy (cakt07):

O_O?!?!?!?!?! AHHHHHHHH MAN! WHAT!?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

I am looking very closely... still don't see a difference between A and C :P

OpenStudy (cakt07):

A lil more simpler please O_O

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

A & C look exact the same. & b&D look the same. I stayed staring at them for a while.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

XD

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Okay hold on LOL

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

I was converting words into math speak :P b = baby dolls 2 baby dolls = 2b 2b = 2 times b > means less than so you get 2 times b > 70

OpenStudy (cakt07):

No its like > --- Meaning: Greater/Less than or equal to

OpenStudy (cakt07):

with lines under them

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

ohhhhh okay that would be the difference between "less than" and "less than or equal to" it says "less than" so just > Not ≥

OpenStudy (cakt07):

O_O whaaa?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

the symbol > mean less than the symbol ≥ means less than or equal to

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Oh, so both C and D are both greater than or equal to. You can scratch those off because it says they're LESS than. And 2 * b is the same as 2b.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

ya i know keep going, im still confused a little.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

OHHHH!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

train wreck

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Which is 2 baby dolls

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

o.O how do you even get up there >.<

OpenStudy (cakt07):

o.O Dont post anything that doesnt make sense in my question thingy please.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

(WIO) T_T

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

@cakt07 can you conclude?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Its bewtween A or B but i cant choose!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Two baby dolls... is that multiplication or addition?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

why're you adding 2 + b ?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Addition?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you have b baby dolls and you are adding 2 more?

OpenStudy (cakt07):

O_O Im still confused.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

AWW DANG!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If b is the price of baby dolls, then would the price of 2 be \(2\times b\) or \(2+b\)?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

addition would be like saying you have 1 baby doll and you're adding 2 dollars to it

OpenStudy (cakt07):

IT TIMED OUT AND KICKED ME OUT! >_<!

OpenStudy (cakt07):

*Smashes cookie*

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

U_U you should have looked above I sugar coded it >.<

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

reread @jigglypuff314 4th respond. She told you the answer. If you read the replies carefully you'll understand.

OpenStudy (cakt07):

T_T, Okay hold on *Goes in anothe room grabs pillow* -Starts hitting my chair with pillow while screaming- "AJHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" *comes back* Im done...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My image what very relevant to this topic. It was a metaphor.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

NUUU *hugs cakt07* >_<

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

"so you get 2 times b > 70" was my comment from before :P

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Thx Anyway Guys :), Gold Medals for everyone! Everybody give each other gold medals :)!

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Your mind is tricking you, you're looking for only the answer straight up, but if you also focus on how you do it, you'll notice the answer is right there!

OpenStudy (cakt07):

Thx :D! Bye!
