How do you write a summary of a short story? I know this sounds kind of dumb, but I'm awful at writing, and I just want to know how to write a good summary of something.

well to have a good summary to me make sure you do not include your own opinion and don't put to many details if this helps please tell me if it does not im so sorry

All you have to do is write about the main points in your story. If you're story is about summarizing a movie (let's say Titanic) then you would want to add in the summary how jack and Rose met, fell in love, what was the conflict, how the ship went down, and why it went down, and how the people that survived the wreck are now. Hope this helped!
