Describe a suitable control to test the specificity of the Bradford assay for certain amino acids

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Welcome to OpenStudy, what do you already know?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Well, the bradford assay, from what I remember, is dependent on the amino acid composition of the protein at hand. I think it is particularly seeing basic amino acids, such as arginine, lysine and histidine.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

So, maybe use a control protein, one which you already know the amino acid composition. Prepare a standard curve and then use that to compare.
