Trigonometry 22 Online
OpenStudy (annipuppi):

Can someone help me with 2 easy trig questions? I'll give a medal if you show your work.

OpenStudy (annipuppi):

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

for the 1st question, any ideas on which ratio to use.... sin, cos or tan

OpenStudy (annipuppi):

tan?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

great so you have \[\tan(35) = \frac{x}{12}\] to find x, multiply both side equation by 12 then just evaluate hope that helps for question 1

OpenStudy (annipuppi):

Yeah it does. Thanks. What about the second one?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so in the 2nd equation you have a some parallel lines |dw:1392496481646:dw| so using the alternate angles in parallel lines property, you can get an angle in the triangle... so what ratio do you need, since you need to find the hypotenuse, its either sin or cos

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

and alternate method is to use complementary angles |dw:1392496645096:dw| then pick a ratio
