Car A traveled 60 miles and averaged 20 miles per gallon of gasoline. If car B traveled 15 miles for each gallon of gasoline it used, how many miles had car B traveled when it had used the same amount of gasoline that car A used to travel 60 miles?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Car A gas used 60 miles / 20 mpg = 3 gallons Car B gets 15 mpg and if it used 3 gallons then it traveled 45 miles.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

First find the unit rate of car A. What will that be?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Divide 60/20.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Or just simply you can follow wolf1728's method.
