Can we say "está estando"? does that make sense? In which context? Why not "está" simply?

"esta estando" makes no sense because estar is used to express a person's condition and not action. for example: nosotros estamos tristes=we are sad. Estar=is/are in english. I;m really bad at explaining, I understand if you don't get it lol
