Solve the inequality. Show your work. –6b > 42 or 4b > –4

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I'll solve the first one to get you started –6b > 42 –6b/(-6) < 42/(-6) ... divide both sides by -6, notice the sign will flip 1b < -7 b < -7 and I'll let you solve the other inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4b > -4 4b/4 > -4/4 Divide both sides by the constant (4) and keep the sign the same way. *only flip the sign when dividing by a negative number like in the first one* b > -1
