Spanish 1 question.. Help, and medal goes to best answer.
In this lesson, you have learned the following -ar verbs: estudiar (to study), hablar (to speak), escuchar (to listen), mirar (to look at), participar (to participate), necesitar (to need), entregar (to turn in), trabajar (to work), buscar (to look for), participar (to practice), and dibujar (to draw). Use the above verbs to write a total of nine sentences. Use the above to write a total of nine sentences. Write three sentences about yourself using a veb from the above list (use the "yo" (I) form of the verb) Write three sentences about a friend (use the "el or ella" (he/she form). Write three sentences about you and a friend (use the nosotros/nosotras (we) form). Use at least five different -ar verbs. Example: Yo necesito un diccionario para la clase de espanol. Marta dibuja en la clase de arte con un lapiz y papel.
Sorry it's all jumbled around, it wasn't supposed to be. the Example says, Example: Yo necesito undiccionario para la clase de espanol. Marta dibuja en la clase de arte con un lapis y papel.
This is simple and I'll gladly help you
yes, please! @brendalopez
well try to do this in english, just use the verbs and write it out in english, then I'll help you on the spanish part c;
okay
Myself: 1.) I like to draw and write. 2.) I like talking a lot. 3.) I do not like working. Friend: 1.) My friend is very intelligent. 2.) She participates in a lot of sports. 3.) She does not like volleyball practice. Both: 1.) We like to listen to music. 2.) We like to study in the library. 3.) We do not like school.
@brendalopez sorry that took awhile.
@esshotwired help?
@kewlgeek555
I think it is: Myself: 1.) Yo gusta dibujo y escribo. 2.) Yo hablo mucho 3.) Yo no gusta trabajo. Friend: 1.) Mi amiga es muy inteligente. 2.) Ella participar en much practicar deportes. 3.) Ella no gusta voleibol practicar. Both: 1.) Nosotras escuchamos a musica. 2.) Nosotras estudiamos en el biblioteca. 3.) Nosotras no te gusta escuela. This is what I think, but my teacher said it was wrong the first time I submitted it. I think it's better now ( I edited it a bit ) but I have my doubts.
For the sentences about yourself I see 1 and 3 are wrong. I would not use 'gustar' for your conjugations because it is not one of your verbs listed in the ones you must use. For 1, you conjugated the verbs 'dibujar' and 'escribar' when you should've just left them in their infinite form. The translation of what you have would be: I like to I draw and I write. This sentence should be completely changed though so that you are using one of the verbs listed, and then you must use that verb as the one you are going to conjugate and not leave in the infinite form.
Myself: 1. Yo dibujo mucho= I draw a lot 2. Yo hablo mucho=I talk a lot 3. Yo no trabajo=I do not work Friend: 1. Mi amiga estudia para la pruebas=My friend studies for the quizzes 2. Ella participa en muchos deportes=She participates in a lot of sports 3. Ella no practica volibol=She doesn't practice volleyball Both: 1. Nostros esuchamos musica=We listen to music 2. Nosotros entregamos la tarea=We turn in the homework 3. Nostors necesitamos comida=We need food
@brendalopez I thought it's 'voleibol' not 'volibol'...? and I didn't say she doesn't practice volleyball l said she doesn't like to practice volleyball. Other than that thank you! And @esshotwired do you agree with what she said? ^
Volleyball = voleibol Also, let me read the directions and try to just help you, instead of see if Brenda was correct...
Okay, thanks
Hm...I did this one time with another client. So...you have this: Myself: 1.) I like to draw and write. Okay, and the basic directions are... --> Write thee sentences about yourself, your friend, and both of you --> At least Five -AR Verbs --> Obviously it must have correct spelling and conjugation. I see you already tried to translate it yourself... As @esshotwired said, Question one is incorrect. You have to use "Yo" for all the sentences of the "me" part, and you cannot say "I like to draw and write" because that is correectly translated as "A mi me gusta..." and you must use "yo". So you are better off saying "I draw and write" which will be translated to... "Yo dibujo y escribo."
The second one is correct. The third one, as @esshotwired said, is incorrect. Same problem as number one. Just simple say "I do not work", or "Yo no trabajo."
"1.) Mi amiga es muy inteligente." This one, from the "friend" section", is incorrect. Grammatically it is correct, but remember the direction told you you have to use "El or "Ella", so just correct this one by replacing "Mi amiga" with "Ella". :) "2.) Ella participar en much practicar deportes." The second one of the "friend" section is also incorrect. The conjugation of "participar" is incorrect and "mucho" is missing the ending "o". Try to correct it yourself. :) (yo) participo (tú) participas (él/ella) participa (usted) participa (nosotros) participamos (ellos) participan (ustedes) participan HINT: Ella _____ en mucho deportes. "3.) Ella no gusta voleibol practicar." This should be "Ella no LE gusta practicar voleibol"
Ella es muy inteligente ...?
Correct. :D
yay! :)
Please read the rest of the things I told you. I have more to say. ;) Hopefully you will understand and correct. ;D
I feel like this is preschool Spanish, but I just don't seem to understand conjugations.
You know what I used to do?
What?
I used to write down all the vocabulary words that they gave me conjugations for. It's a lot to write, but maybe you can take screenshots. But...since you are in Spanish I...this might help: Regular -AR Verbs http://www.studyspanish.com/verbs/lessons/justar.htm Regular -ER Verbs http://www.studyspanish.com/verbs/lessons/juster.htm Regular -IR Verbs http://www.studyspanish.com/verbs/lessons/justir.htm StudySpanish.com is an excellent website and if you click the links and look to the left, there are a bunch of "lessons" that will surely help you. ;)
Okay thank you
"1.) Nosotras escuchamos a musica. " Either take out the "a" or replace it with "la"...which ever is correct. ;) 2.) Nosotras estudiamos en el biblioteca. Correct. :D 3.) Nosotras no te gusta escuela. You are saying... "We you do not like school" That doesn't make sense. Correction: "Nosotras no nos gusta la escuela." And the end. :) P.S.: You should tyr learning about Direct Object Pronouns to help you more: http://www.studyspanish.com/lessons/dopro1.htm
Would you mind giving me a "list" of the number and sections I got wrong so I can try to correct them? Sorry, just a bit confused with all the comments from different people.
No, I do not mind. Let me finish helping someone else really quick and I will begin my list. Or if you'd like, I can open a question for you, and copy my list there where there are no comments. Let me know. c;
It's fine here. And np I'll wait.
Myself: 1.) Yo gusta dibujo y escribo. As @esshotwired said, Question one is incorrect. So you are better off saying "I draw and write" which will be translated to... "Yo dibujo y escribo." 2.) Yo hablo mucho Correct 3.) Yo no gusta trabajo. Same problem as number one. Just simple say "I do not work", or "Yo no trabajo." Friend: "1.) Mi amiga es muy inteligente." This one, from the "friend" section", is incorrect. Grammatically it is correct, but remember the direction told you you have to use "El or "Ella", so just correct this one by replacing "Mi amiga" with "Ella". :) "2.) "We you do not like school" That doesn't make sense. Correction: "Nosotras no nos gusta la escuela."
Okay so just double checking.. these are the correct forms: ..right? Myself: 1.) Yo dibujo y escribo. 2.) Yo hablo mucho. 3.) Yo no trabajo. Friend: 1.) Ella es muy inteligente. 2.) Ella practica mucho deportes. 3.) Ella no le gusta practicar voleibol. Both: 1.) Nosotras escuchamos la musica. 2.) Nosotras estudiamos en el biblioteca. 3.) Nosotras no nos gusta la escuela.
"la biblioteca"* Other than that, it is all correct! Congratulations!
Okay, thank you so much!!
