x^4-5x^3+7x^2-3x=o I know the zeroes are supposed to by x=1, x=3, and x=1. I just don't know how to solve the equation.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm how do you know "x=1, x=3, and x=1" ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I put the equation into a quartic equation solver online. It gave me the answer but didn't show how it got it.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

heeh

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well.... do you know how to do long division of polynomials?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

factor out x and then use synthetic division.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[x(x^3-5x^2+7x-3)=0\]
