How was MRSA discovered?

thomaster (thomaster):

Well it was a Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that couldn't be killed with beta-lactam antibiotics. It was discovered in 1961.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did they figure that out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By SCIENCE!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I no that but what was the process

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, actually because it was discovered from food poisoning in the UK from foods that were improperly stored or prepared. When treating people with things like penicillin, it worked but only for a short while, and everybody knows that viruses become resistant to antibiotics over time.
