7x+8y=-12 What is the y and x intercept

OpenStudy (mathmale):

What's a y-intercept? it's the point at which a graph crosses the y-axis. How do we find it? Since x=0 represents the y-axis, we let x=0 in 7x+8y=-12. This results in the equation 8y=12, which is easily solved for y. Write the y intercept as (0, 12/8) (which can be reduced. What's an x-intercept? Since y=0 represents the x-axis, set y=0 in 7x+8y=-12. Write the x-intercept as a point ( ?? , 0).
